Self Appreciation

Hello all! How are you?? I hope it’s not too late to say happy new year to all of you. I hope you have a great year ahead and be blessed with happiness, healthiness, and courage to start the new year. One thing for sure, i believe this year will be a year with a lot of adventure and surprise for most of us.

Since we don’t know what we will experience this year, let’s make it a surprising things to experience. How about we talk about last year. Do most of you think about what have we accomplished or achieved during last year? Some of us may achieve something great like promotion, their dream car or vacation, success in business, or even get long awaited offspring, and so on. Some of us may just experience some boring same things, or maybe reach the bottom line of life. Some of us may envy other people’s for their achievement and pity our selves. If you did pitied your self, please stop doing that!

I want to say something serious! We may not realize something important in our life if we keep comparing our life to others. Even though it’s invisible for us to see, but we did achieved something or at least we did good things last year. It might not be something sophisticated for the society, but it’s something to consider and be celebrated. Some of us might be always healthy and could good maintain their health. Some of us might survive in their own storm and conquer their own nightmare. Some of us could overcome their fears, some of us keep moving on after losing someone important in their life. Some of us finally could make an important life decisions. Some of us have a courage to get out of toxic relationships. Some of us could provide warm or proper meal for their families. Some of us could be the better version of themselves. Some of us could control their emotions, anger, or even words. Some of us could keep their promises no matter what the circumstances are. Some of us could smile or even be grateful even when the life gives them bitterness. Some of us sacrifice themselves to make their families or others happy. Some of us were eager to take a risk to start something new. Some of us did a good deeds to others. Some of us stop to hurt themselves or others. And so on…and so on…it’s also counted as good things and we have to appreciate ourselves for those things. We have to hug ourselves and thank ourselves for it. Stop belittling or pitting ourselves.

For me…i pat my shoulders because i did survive in my own struggle. I overcome my biggest fear in life….fear of losing my beloved people…my mom. I overcome my grief although it’s so hard to do and i still miss her a lot. I realize that my life may stop for a while at the moment she passed away, but actually the world doesn’t stop turning, we have to keep our selves moving even though it’s so hard to do. We do it not for others but for ourselves because we deserve to live in the best way that we can do in order not to regret things later.

I also read some wise words from the fortune cookies today. It said, “your past is a spring board and not a sofa.” So that means we have to jump higher, don’t make our past as an excuse to lay down and do nothing to make things better. We have our own responsibilities to make things better or worse, that’s why we have to make decisions and take action. At least we try to do something. If the results isn’t satisfying, at least we try, no regrets…because we know the outcome from our actions. If we make mistakes, then learn from those and fix it. Just take the responsibilities and don’t always blame others. After that appreciate ourselves for our courage, our actions, our sacrifices, our good will. At the end of the day…. Let’s say…Thanks self…for giving the best that you can to survive or even better…thanks for making things better.

God bless us all!
